Dare to Danish network

Do you want an insight into life in Denmark? Do you want to get to know the Danes – even practise some Danish and make a new Danish friend? Then this programme is for you: Dare to Danish, a one-semester programme where you and a Danish ambassador explore Aarhus together.

By participating in the programme, you will get to know both Danish and international students across the university. This is a brilliant way to grow your personal network, socialise, and make new friendships.

The purpose of the programme is to encourage Danish students to engage with and show new international students the way of life in Aarhus. For international students, this is a chance to network and meet different students across the university.

We organise 4-5 group meetings during the semester, and on top of that we encourage the students to meet individually and organise meetings and tours on their own. The activities change every year. Last autumn we went to see a football match together, had a dinner and quiz night, and ended by celebrating Christmas with Danish “hygge”, æbleskiver and pakkeleg.

We normally take in new Dare to Danish groups at the beginning of the autumn semester - the deadline to apply in Autumn ‘24 is 8 September.

Why participate in Dare to Danish?

  • Meet fellow international and Danish students
  • Practice Danish in a safe enviroment
  • Have a Danish mentor
  • Have fun!
