This is a survey course that provides a general introduction to the chemistry of organic polymers. Topics to be discussed fall under the general categories of synthesis, structure, reactivity, characterization, physical properties, and applications.

Additional reading material will be supplied by the teacher.

Teaching Curriculum

4 hours per week of lecture and 2 hours per week of exercises/discussion. In the early part of the semester, the teacher will deliver lectures. In the latter part of the semester, each student will deliver a seminar(s) on a topic of his/her choice. Each student will also submit a short paper on this same topic.

Organic Chemistry, Kemi 21 and Kemi 22

Evaluation

A mark is given in the 13-scale, based upon the paper and seminar(s) with internal examiners (intern 'censur').
