Leave of absence and parental leave

STADS is up and running

STADS is once again up and running, and you can register for spring classes and exams. The registration deadline is Thursday 7 November at 23.59.

Leave of absence

It is not possible to take a leave of absence from a Master's degree programme or MBA.

However, you are not required to be actively enrolled each semester, so you can choose to have a semester or two without courses. However, it is up to you to keep an eye on when courses are offered again, the deadline for registering for courses and whether you can complete the programme within the maximum time to degree.

There are a couple of things to be aware of if you want to withdraw from the programme. Click here to see the procedure for withdrawal.

Parental leave

You do not need to apply for maternity leave from your study programme. If you wish to take maternity leave, you can simply refrain from enrolling on courses during the semesters in question. However, make sure you can still complete the programme within the maximum degree completion time.

On the other hand, if you want to take courses during parental leave, you are welcome to do so. While on parental leave, you can choose to follow the programme as prescribed or take fewer courses. This guide only applies to your studies at BSS. Check whether you are subject to other rules regarding studying during parental leave, particularly if you will be receiving parental leave benefits.
