The study administration will register bachelor students for compulsory courses according to the academic regulations. If you wish to register for a compulsory course from a previous semester, you must send an email to:
Please note the demands for study progress and maximum duration of study, when you register for courses.
From autumn semester 2019, it is no longer possible to include a bachelor level course in your master's degree programme.
If you wish to cancel a course registration or change your course registration, this is done via mit.au.dk within the registration periods from 1 – 5 May (autumn courses) and 1 - 5 November (spring courses).
The rules for withdrawal outside the registration periods are as follows:
The rules for change of courses outside the registration period are as follows:
It is not possible to cancel a course registration, unless you have received an exemption or you have one of the below mentioned reasons.
You can only deregister from courses, if you can document one of the above reasons. However, deregistration is only possible if the course registration at AU and the credit module/exchange/internship are placed on the same semester. Therefore, you cannot withdraw from courses at AU and replace them with other study-related activities that take place at a later semester or e.g. during the summer period between two semesters.
Please notice, courses may overlap if you decide to postpone a course to a later semester. For instance, if you deregister from a compulsory course at your third semester and plan to take it on your fifth semester, it may overlap with other fifth semester courses.
Likewise, please pay attention to the rules regarding maximum duration of studies and the demand for study progress.
Please note that courses are cancelled, if less than 15 students sign up for them. Therefore it is very important that you register for all the courses you wish to take the coming semester. You find the elective courses here or in the AU Course Catalogue.
Every semester the department offers a number of courses with restrictions on admission. Students with the most credits (ECTS) will come first in line to the available seats.
Sign up for the restricted admission courses via mystudies.au.dk, (the selfservice facility).
Students from other higher education institutions:
Students enrolled at other institutions, who wish to follow courses at this department, should follow the procedures for credit transfer, as well as the above described procedures.
