Contents

The goal of the course is to provide an experimentel and theoretical introduction to cellular mechanisms related to the function of nerves and muscles. The course consists of three sections:
1: Diffusion and active transport across the cell membrane and basic elements in bioelectricity.
2: Information processing in the nervous system including mechanisms of action potentials, synapses and sensory perception.
3: Contractility and its regulation in different muscle types.
