InCh 110 Introduction to Inorganic Chemistry

Contents

The purpose of this course is to survey the periodic system and to provide the student with a general knowledge of the properties of the elements and their most important compounds. A number of general concepts such as chemical equilibrium and quantitative treatment of chemical reactions are presented at an elementary level. The practical work introduces the student to laboratory technique and to the properties of selected chemical compounds. The course also touches on broader aspects of chemistry, such as its history, along with industrial and environmental chemistry.
