Microorganisms

Microorganisms - Morphology, physiology, and genetics of procaryotes, fungi, algae, and protozoa.



Contents

1: Cytology, 2 h lecures, 4 h labs. A general introduction to the cytology of the eucaryotic cell.

2: Procaryotes, 10 h lectures, 20 h labs/ problem solving. The course will include isolation and identification of procaryotes.

3: Fungi, 6 h lectures, 12 h labs/problem solving. The course will include both micro- and macrofungi. Included in the programme is an excursion with collection and identification of macrofungi.

4: Algae, 6 lectures, 12 h labs/problem solving. The course will include both micro- and macroalgae.

5: Protozoa, 4 h lectures, 8 h labs/problem solving. The course will give an overview of all types of unicellular microorganisms not treated during the other parts of the course.
