Objective

Physical oceanography with emphasis on processes and the application in biological studies.



Contents

Waves, tides and other sea level variations and their prediction. Sea water, its composition, properties and physical behaviour and characteristics. Circulation in oceans, basins, and estu-aries. Marine fronts and mixing. Divergence and convergence. Upwelling and downwelling, Physical oceanography, coral reefs, and mangrove forests. Regional oceanography. Remote sensing. Field experiments and excursions.
