Seminars in DNA Topology and Cancer

Seminars in DNA Topology and Cancer

Aim

To reach an understanding of the role of DNA topology in regulation of essential cellular processes and of the importance of DNA isomerases as targets for anti-cancer drugs.

Contents

Topics are chosen, which will elucidate important features of DNA conformation, chromatin structure, and the importance DNA topology for regulation of transcription, replication, and recombination.

The course will focus on the role of DNA topoisomerases in the regulation of these processes. Moreover, the importance of DNA topoisomerases as targets in systemic treatment of human cancers will be discussed.

Form and duration: 3 Lessons/kollokviae per week for 8 weeks.
