Computational Physics (1p)


Indhold

The course will give an introduction to writing scientific computer programs and the computer simulation of physical systems. The course will cover numerical tools to solve ordinary differential equations, boundary and eigenvalue problems, quadrature, matrix operations, elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations and the Monte Carlo method. Two non-trivial physical applications are discussed for each mathematical topic. Computer codes are provided. Computer language will be FORTRAN.
