Microsoft Office 365
Aarhus University gives all students access to Microsoft's offer of free Office 365.
As a active student at the university, you get access to install Office 365 on up to 5 units - both tablet/iPad, smartphones and PC/Mac. Additionally, you have the opportunity to get:
- OneDrive – save and share files in the cloud so that they are always secured.
- Office Online – collaborate in real time via an internet browser.
- Offline access to Office programmes and documents
- Skype for business that you can read more about here
- The same platform so that you effortlessly can open the same files on iPad and PC.
Microsoft Office 365 is a free offer for you, as long as you are an active student at Aarhus University.
New students (commencement of studies winter 2016)
- Go to portal.office.com
- Username: au<AU ID>@uni.au.dk (e.g. au123456@uni.au.dk). Find your AU ID next to your name when you log on to mitstudie.au.dk.
- Password: the same password you use to mitstudie.au.dk.
Current students (commencement of studies summer 2015 and prior)
- The next time you are asked to change your password, your password to mitstudie.au.dk and Microsoft Office 365 will be synchronised. This means that you must log on to Office 365 with the same password you use to mitstudie.au.dk.
- Go to portal.office.com and log on with the following information:
- Username: au<AU ID>@uni.au.dk (e.g. au123456@uni.au.dk). Find your AU ID next to your name when you log on to mitstudie.au.dk.
- Password: the same password you use to mitstudie.au.dk.
Even though you are not asked to change your password to you can always change it and your password will be synchronised with your password to Office 365, Eduroam, WAYF (e.g. BlackBoard).
NB! Please notice, that Aarhus University and your local IT support DO NOT support Microsoft Office 365. However, you can find manuals and FAQ's on Microsoft's website or contact Microsoft Support 82333100
Also be aware that you will no longer have access to Office365, when you are no longer a student at the University of Aarhus.
Skype for business
All students at Aarhus University have access to Skype for business. You can use the service to many things for example: Chatting, talking and making videocalls with the possibility to share your screen.

Windows 11 Education
As a student of Aarhus University you can download Windows 11 Education free via the Microsoft student use benefit program.
You can access this free offer here: aarhus.onthehub.com
If you have already done the free upgrade to Windows 11 Home Edition on your personal machine, you are still able to order Windows 11 Education. You will be receiving additional features by entering your new Windows 11 Education product key via the Windows System.
If you are a Windows 10 user, then Windows 11 Education will also allow you to upgrade to Windows 11.
If you are a Mac user, you will be able to run Windows 11 Education on your Mac via virtualization software such as Parallels.

Functionality of the software:
- Access to a large library of visual content: PowerPoint templates, icons, maps, pictures, diagrams, but also Gantt, Waterfall and Mekko charts. There are more than 1000 visual elements you can use directly to beautify your presentations for your courses or internships.
- Automation of formatting tasks. Easily harmonize your presentation’s format by changing colors, fonts or titles in your entire deck.
- Easy manipulation of shapes: simple but intuitive tools to swap shapes, make them same size, bring them further or closer from one another, make your slide symmetric, etc.
- Taking you out of painful Excel situations with some unique macros to resolve unaddressed Excel problems such as cleaning formulas, removing empty cells or managing merged cells.

How do I get access to SurveyXact
Access:
- License regulations: All employees and students at Aarhus University
- Gain access via https://wayf.survey-xact.dk. Choose Aarhus University and sign in with your AU ID and password
- You can also gain access to SurveyXact from home
How to install:
- No installation is required. You will find the program and its content through your browser.
- If you have never used SurveyXact before, you need to accept a digital certificate.
- Use SmartDesigner to design questionnaires. There are two versions:
- SmartDesigner (when choosing SmartDesigner, a little Java program will automatically be installed).
- AdvancedDesigner
Am I allowed to use SurveyXact privately?

SPSS
Description
SPSS is a statistical program, which makes it possible to perform a number of tests. SPSS is especially good with regards to cross-sectional data and therefor excellent with regards to relatively simple tests, such as simple t-tests, test of two means and ANOVA. The program is point-and-click based, which makes it relatively simple to use. Furthermore SPSS is relatively good in relation to regression analysis, yet especially in with regards to cross-sectional data.
License
As a student of Aarhus University you have the opportunity to acquire the right of use for an administrative fee for a license for SPSS. The price is 300 DKK, and can be paid by using the following link.

STATA
Description
Stata is a user-friendly all-round statistical, which is gaining popularity, especially within the health care and social sciences. Stata can be used for scientific analysis of quantitative data, data processing, basic uni- and bivariate analyses along with linear regression. Furthermore the program can be used for more advanced subjects, such as illustrating the results of interaction models.
