Students do not automatically have access to other people’s calendars in Outlook – and your own calendar is unavailable to others by default. Here you can see how to give other people access to your calendar and how to request access to other people’s calendars.
As a student, you can decide who is able to view your calendar – and what they are able to see.
You do this by changing your calendar settings. For example, you can give all students at AU access to your calendar, or you can give access to specific groups or individuals by adding them one at a time. If you’re employed as a student worker, it might be a good idea to give access to everybody in the department/unit in which you work.
In the guides below, you can see how to change your calendar settings in Windows or on a Mac.
If you’d like access to view other people’s calendars – perhaps your fellow students’ or teachers’ calendars – you need to contact them directly and ask them to give you access.
To give you access, they then need to add you (or a department/unit you are part of) manually in Outlook.
Here you can see the default calendar view settings in Outlook.
