All students at Aarhus University have an AU email address, studentnumber@post.au.dk. The email address will be used when the University contacts you electronically, which might happen in connection with exam registration, cancelled classes, invitations to relevant events, information about exam deadlines etc.
You are very welcome to use the address for private correspondence. We do not monitor the contents of your inbox.
You read your emails by logging on via https://post.au.dk. You can also log on via mit.au.dk (Self-service)
In May, all students at AU will get access to new useful applications in the Microsoft 365 package. As a consequence of the change, your email is moved, and you will get access access to Teams. We’re making this change to provide you and your fellow students with a more up-to-date digital platform to support you in your studies.
The new email solution means that your AU email account will move from post.au.dk to Microsoft Exchange (Outlook).
We’ll be sending you more information about Teams and the other tools in the Microsoft 365 package. You have access to a how-to site where you’ll find useful tips on how to use Microsoft 365 tools in connection with your studies.
If you have mails that are too large to move in your post.au.dk mailbox, or if your mailbox is too full, you will need to clean up your mailbox before we can move it to Outlook. We’ll contact you directly at your AU email address and on Mitstudie (mystudies.au.dk) if you need to clean up your mailbox. Below you will find four guides, that can help you to clean up.
Please note that your AU-mail will not work on the email client on your phone or tablet if you leave the country. Use the webmail instead.
