AU ID, AU email, student number and Microsoft Teams

Your username at Aarhus University is your AU ID.

You will find your AU ID in your welcome letter. Your welcome letter will be sent to your e-Boks at the beginning of June.

Your AU ID consists of:

• The letters au
• A sequence of numbers, e.g. 12345
• @uni.au.dk

Example: [email protected]

What do you use your AU ID for?

You use your AU ID to log in to almost all AU systems, for example:

• mitstudie.au.dk (start page and access to all AU systems)
• outlook.office.com (your AU email)
• Brightspace (communication about your courses)
• Student Self-Service (STADS) (course and exam registration, etc.)
• Eduroam (wireless network)

When we have important information for you, we will send it to your AU email.

This may include: important deadlines, invitations to key guidance sessions, and other important study-related information.

Your official AU email consists of your student number + @post.au.dk.

You can find your student number in your welcome letter. You can also find it by logging in to mitstudie.au.dk.

Your email client is Outlook 

All students at AU have access to Miccrosoft 365 and the email client Outlook.

Your student number is a number that identifies you, similar to your AU ID.

Your student number is also used as the first part of your official AU email ([email protected]).

You will find your student number in your welcome letter. You can also see it when you log in to mitstudie.au.dk with your AU ID.

As a student at Aarhus University, you automatically have free access to Microsoft 365.

Microsoft 365 is a collaboration platform that, among other things, allows you to share files, co-edit documents, hold video meetings, and much more.
